About Coffee@TheHub
Coffee@TheHub isnt just another coffee shop in the heart of Cheddar—it’s the culmination of Lisa’s lifelong journey in education, wellbeing, and community building. With over 25 years of experience as a teacher and working with leading organisations such as Oxford University Press, Lisa travelled extensively—supporting schools and universities in places as far-reaching from Saudi Arabia, to Warsaw and Milan. Her mission was always clear: to help children and young people thrive, no matter where they were in the world or on their journey.
Today, Lisa continues that mission as CEO of The Space, a local charity dedicated to supporting children’s mental health and wellbeing based in Cheddar.
Her work at The Space is deeply aligned with the values behind Coffee@TheHub—creating safe, inclusive environments where young people and families feel supported, heard, and empowered.
Throughout her travels, coffee shops became her second office—spaces where she planned, reflected, and connected.
These experiences gave her a deep understanding of what makes a truly great hub. It’s not just about the coffee (though that’s important too!)—it’s about creating a warm, welcoming space where everyone feels at home.
Her family and friends were part of this journey too—often being lovingly “dragged” into coffee shops in every city and town she visited. Their support helped shape the heart and soul of Coffee@TheHub: a place built on connection, purpose, and care.
Together, we are looking after the community, one coffee at a time.
Community-Driven Business Partnerships
Our passion for supporting the community is powered by our local alliances, without them, Coffee@TheHub would still be an idea on paper.
These fantastic local businesses and charities all work tirelessly for the health and well-being of young people in the Cheddar Valley area.

A shared commitment for our community
Coffee@TheHub proudly works in collaboration with The Space, Cheddar’s local mental health charity, to cultivate a welcoming and supportive environment for everyone in the community. Through shared values and a strong sense of purpose, the coffee shop offers a relaxed and inclusive space where visitors can not only enjoy a comforting cuppa but also find connection, conversation, and signposting to mental health support when needed.
This partnership extends beyond awareness—it’s woven into the daily rhythm of the coffee shop, from community events to thoughtful touches that encourage wellbeing and openness. Together, they’re brewing more than just coffee—they’re fostering connection, resilience, and hope.
How we work with organisations
Coffee@TheHub thrives on strong partnerships with a range of local organisations, working hand-in-hand to support community wellbeing, creativity, and connection.
Whether it’s teaming up with Cheddar’s mental health services, local schools, creative groups, or social enterprises, these collaborations help bring meaningful projects and inclusive events to life.
From sharing resources and co-hosting initiatives to offering a welcoming space for community-led workshops, the coffee shop acts as a hub—quite literally—where ideas, support, and local energy come together.
It’s a partnership model rooted in trust, shared values, and a commitment to making Cheddar a more connected and compassionate place for all.
